Brussels, 07-08/12/2011 {{ {Foreword } }} On the 26 June 2011 the Commission issued the proposal on “A Budget for Europe 2020”, defining the new EU financial perspectives for the period from 2014 to 2020. On the 6October the Commission published its proposals for the Regulation covering all the EU structural instruments and the legislative package of EU regional, employment and social policy for 2014-2020.

Brussels, 07/12/2011 The European Trade Union Confederation Executive Committee wishes to send you a strong and urgent message in the context of the European Council discussion of changes in the Lisbon Treaty. It is the future of citizens, and not the opinion of rating agencies, to which your concerns must be directed. Your common political leadership is essential to prevent a collapse of our economies, recession, mass unemployment and social unrest. Don’t stifle growth and jobs. Don’t imprison EU countries in an economic straitjacket.

Brussels, 13-14/10/2010 Two legislative proposals have been put forward by the European Commission in July this year concerning the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purpose of seasonal work and in the framework of an intra-corporate transfer (ICT).

Brussels, 01-02/06/2010 1. Context The ETUC adopted a resolution in October 2009 on “climate change, new industrial policies and the ways out of the crisis” including strong and ambitious policy recommendations. The ETUC called on the European Union to consider workers and their representatives as crucial players with whom the European Union must engage in a dialogue and negotiate the transition to a low carbon economy that will provide sustainable jobs and social progress.

Brussels, 1-2/12/2009 Introduction On 20 October 2006 the European Commission launched a consultation in two stages of the European social partners on the issue of reconciliation of professional, private and family life. Brussels, 04/12/2009 Introduction The European Trade Union Confederation is at the forefront in defending human rights, trade union rights and equality for all workers. This commitment also includes the fight for equal treatment and non-discrimination, respect and dignity for lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and trans-gendered workers (LGBT). As is said in the ETUC Congress document adopted in Seville in 2007:

Brussels, 12/12/2009 The European Commission presented – as part of the ‘Renewed Social Agenda’ on 2 July 2008 – a proposal for a directive on patients’ rights in cross-border healthcare. The objective of the proposal is to determine how patients can exercise their right - which has been recognised by the European Court of Justice (EJC) - to seek healthcare in other Member States.
