Campaign, actions and tools from Trade Union Mladi plus from Slovenia

Trade Union Mladi plus from Slovenia is sharing with you two concrete strategic tools and making a direct call for collaboration to ensure we maximize the impact of the newly adopted Directive.

This action contains:

  • Campaign #1:  A social media campaign, launching Dec 2nd.

  • Action #2: How to centralize our collective agreements and recommendations.

  • Tool #3: A ready-to-use strategic questionnaire to audit platforms now.

1. Action #1: The Social Media Campaign & Collaboration

Ben Wray and Jernej  Kastelic have prepared the "Why We Need the EU Directive"  social media campaign, which traces the chronology of the platform fight.  Please feel free to use all campaign texts and images, and translate the content into desired languages.

  • Campaign Link: Why do we need the EU directive?

  • When: It starts Tuesday, December 2nd (one year before the transposition deadline), with new posts every Tuesday at 10 am CET.

  • What: A series of weekly posts for social media (tailored for the limitations of IG). Ben is preparing around 30 posts to cover the key events. Jernej will be managing the asset production, adding a time table sheet and visual assets (photos) for every post.

Collaborate: They want to feature your national updates as a key component of this weekly campaign. If you have a legal win, an organizing success, or news on the implementation, please send it to them so they can integrate it into their regular Tuesday releases as a "European Update."

2. Action #2: learning across boarders

To make our coordination and information sharing effective, there is a  for  need active database. Please take 5 minutes to contribute to their shared Google Sheet:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-ExD9V_gFR8UzL7FigaeTcSj_i1c9FBEpv-k_EMYR0A/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Please add:

  1. Your organization's key recommendations regarding platform work.

  2. Links to any Collective Agreements signed in your country.

  3. Fill in your contact information if it is still missing.

3. Tool #3: The Strategic PWD Questionnaire

Trade Union Mladi plus from Slovenia have finalized a formal, technical data request (Questionnaire) that they are deploying against Wolt (DoorDash) in Slovenia.

The Strategy: This is a powerful tool because it explicitly leverages the adopted PWD before its national transposition, combining it with the immediate power of GDPR (Art. 15, 22). It's designed to force platforms to expose the "black box" logic on pay, deactivations, and task assignment in anticipation of their future legal obligations.

Action: You will find the full English translation of the questionnaire attached to this email. You can adapt and use this model immediately in your own national contexts.

If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact Jernej directly: [email protected].
